TRIP TWO

Lighthouse Reef,

 Halfmoon Caye

and

the Blue Hole

  • 3 days sailing
  • 2 nights camping

This trip will take you to Belize’s most popular sites in its waters.

Lighthouse Reef is a world famous diving and snorkeling location with excellent visibility (over 100 feet in most places) and an abundance of sea life.

The

Uninhabited  Cayes

and the

Crystal Clear

Turquoise Waters

make this area a

MAGICAL SAILING

experience.

At the south of Lighthouse Reef is Halfmoon Caye where we will set up camp. As you approach Halfmoon Caye you’ll believe you have arrived at some South Sea paradise. Offshore the dark hull of the shipwreck looms over the surreal blue and black of the reef world.

Besides boasting offshore waters that are amongst the clearest in Belize, the Caye’s beaches are also Robinson-Crusoe wonderful. Halfmoon Caye is a living paradise quite apart from any in Belize. The bird sanctuary on the island will help you identify the enormous variety of birds, in particular the red-foot-booby bird, the principal habitant of the Caye.

The observation tower on Halfmoon Caye is also not to be missed -climbing this will give you the opportunity to climb the forest canopy for an unbelievable view as well as a closer view of the nesting birds.

Two nights will be spent camping on Halfmoon Caye where camping and sanitation facilities are provided on the island.

The second day’s sailing and snorkeling will be one to remember. The Blue Hole is one of the most famous dive sites in the world. The Blue Hole is an underwater cave, circular in formation with its magnificent blue to black hues surrounded by neon blue. The submerged shaft is a karst-eroded sinkhole with depths that exceed 400 feet. The site is impressive from the bridge of a boat and a ‘must see’ for adventurers.

And finally, the third day’s sailing will be the return home. Once again this journey will be one of dream-come-true island fantasy - white sand, blue sea and coconut palms with a fringe of white water breaking over the nearby reef.

The three day package includes all snorkeling and camping gear and also includes all food and water. The total cost of the three day package is $250US per person plus Tax.
