STOP ONE:

Hol Chan Marine Reserve

is the most popular snorkeling destination in Belize. The words hol chan mean ‘little channel’ in the Maya language and therefore the location is a natural hang out spot for marine life.

The reserve covers about five square miles and about nine miles North East of Caye Caulker. The channel is about 30 feet deep, and since no fishing is permitted in the reserve, it is rich with sea life of every description .

Snorkellers can expect to see abundant angelfish, blue-stripped grunts, schoolmaster snappers and hundreds of other varieties. It is also known for the green moray eels living in tiny caves along the wall.

STOP TWO:

Shark and Ray Alley

is another of our stops within the Reserve, located three miles south of Hol Chan Park.

Locally known as the Aquarium, this spot is known as the shark and stingray city of Belize. This gives the Snorkellers a prime opportunity to swim with the harmless Nurse Sharks and Southern Stingrays and the chance to get acquainted. This is a not to be missed spot!!!

STOP THREE:

The Coral Gardens

are located two and a half miles south west of Shark and Ray Alley. The Belize Reef has such extraordinary clear water that looking through a diving mask brings you into a world of colour.

The myriad hues of coral are rainbow-like: pale pink, flashy reds, deep purples, flamboyant greens and a multitude of colours in between

SUNSET

AND

MOONLIGHT

CRUISES

(Click here to for On-line Reservations)

There is a magical beauty about the Caribbean sea whilst sailing at both sunset and moonlight. Raggamuffin Tours can give you that opportunity to experience this during our sunset or moonlight cruises.

Sunset Cruise

This adventure starts approximately half an hour before the sun is due to set (times vary around the year). The trip will sail along the front of the island cutting through the split to watch the sun set. As the sun finally sets the stars light up the sky and the sea below. The trip lasts no longer than two and a half hours and snacks and beverages are supplied on board. One of our most popular choices, this trip has to be experienced!!

  • The Sunset Cruise is $20US per person

Moonlight Cruise

This could also be called the party cruise!! This trip sets off after the sun has set when the moon is rising. Often used for charters and or special occasions such as birthdays - food and beverages provided on board if required.

Both cruises include snacks and beverages and price varies on length of trip.

  • Moonlight Cruise is $30US per person.

FISHING TRIPS

Belize is a fisherman’s heaven and exploring beyond the reef, out into the big blue, only adds to the great adventure. Fish are not only plentiful beyond the reef but are far more likely to be larger than those found inside the reef and therefore fisherman are often far more excited about their catch.

Those fish that are expected to be biting are Wahoo, Sailfish, Kingfish, Snapper, Grouper, Jacks, Sharks and Barracudas.

Trawling

½ day $200 US / Full Day $250US
Max No 4

Trawling can be done both inside and outside of the reef and is a popular method of fishing amongst fishermen.
